FROM THE ARTIST: I’ve all the time been fascinated by sizzling rods and their subculture, particularly by the American artist, Ed “Massive Daddy” Roth, creator of the recent rod icon Rat Fink, later resumed by the daddy of skate artwork, Jim Phillips. If we combine these influences with my favourite Australian artwork collective, Mambo, the outcomes couldn’t be extra apparent. A resurrected Edgar Allan Poe corpse driving a picket sizzling rod coffin. That is the brand new illustration from my sequence “Ukulele’s Portraits.”
